Hopper Feeders
Hopper feeders or house style feeders are the traditional looking feeders that resemble houses. They are called hopper feeders because it holds lots of seeds and dispenses it to the birds, just like the agricultural hopper which is a storage container used to dispense granular materials. The birds also hop on and hop off of them while enjoying the seeds. Any of our WBU Seed Blends can be placed in a hopper feeder as well as sunflower and safflower seeds. Many birds enjoy using hopper feeders including: chickadees, finches, siskins, nuthatches, sparrows, grosbeaks and blue jays. Doves and cardinals particularly enjoy hopper feeders as they like to have both feed on something solid while feeding.

EcoTough® feeders are environmentally friendly, high quality products made from recycled plastic milk jugs. The Classic has curved ends so you can see birds feeding on both sides at the same time. Perch drains allow seed to drop out of the feeder for ground-feeding birds to eat, and angled perches let empty seed hulls be blown away by the wind. The removable screen bottom is treated with EcoClean® Product Protection, providing 24/7 product protection. We recommend this feeder be pole-mounted due to its weight and size. The Mini Hopper is a smaller version of our Classic Hopper that is great for small spaces or as an introduction to the hobby. Designed for hanging only. (hanging hardware included). WBU EcoTough® Classic Hopper Feeder with Seed Catcher Tray: The WBU EcoTough® Classic Hopper Feeder with Seed Catcher Tray is made of recycled plastic and is available in a charming green colour. The attached tray can accommodate even more seed for ground feeding birds (such as doves and cardinals) or can catch the seed shells left behind after feeding. The EcoTough® Classic Hopper Feeder with Seed Catcher Tray needs to be mounted due to the weight of the feeder. We recommend that it is mounted on a WBU Advanced Pole System® (APS) (sold separately) or mounted on a 4 x 4 post with WBU 4 x 4 Wood Post Flanges (sold separately). The Classic Hopper part of this feeder has a capacity for approximately 2.2 lbs. (1.01 kg) or 10 cups of WBU Seed. The WBU EcoTough® Classic Hopper Feeder weighs approximately 7 lbs. (3.18 kg) unfilled and 9.2 lbs. filled (4.17 kg). WBU Pigeon Guards (sold separately) are available for the hopper portion of this feeder to keep pigeons and doves off of the hopper. WBU Pigeon Guards: Pigeon Guards prevent large birds such as pigeons and doves from eating at your hopper feeder. Pigeon guards are sold separately and can be added to: WBU EcoTough® Classic, WBU EcoTough® Classic Too, and WBU EcoTough® Ranchette Retreat.
